PCO: GRAPE SEED EXTRACT, Organic

Extracts containing bioflavonoid PCOs are among the most powerful natural antioxidants and free radical scavengers yet discovered; as much as 50 times as powerful as vitamin E, and 20 times as powerful as vitamin C.

Grape seed extract inhibits serum Angiotensin-Converting Enzyme (ACE) activity and reduces systolic blood pressure.

Free radicals are special molecules that reduce the antioxidant potential in the body and increase oxidative stress. In humans, the common signs of oxidative damage can be seen in the normal signs of cataracts and macular degeneration.  This can also increase the risk to get a bladder infection.

Able to cross the brain-blood barrier to help protect brain tissue from oxidation, help to normalize inflammation through enzyme inhibition, promote healthy circulation and capillary integrity, and are uniquely able to help protect and rebuild collagen supporting flexibility of skin, joints, arteries, & other tissues.

Because they have some unique properties, there may be an advantage in using both PCOs from both grape seed and pine bark in the form of pycnogenol.

Tip: Pine bark extract (Pycnogenol) does not inhibit the ACE activity.

Caution: If you take ACE inhibitors avoid grape seed extract, it increases the effect of these medical drugs. Also the ACE inhibitor effect of Pomegranate is increases. Avoid grape seed extract, if you take any kind of blood thinners like Nattokinase, Serrapeptase or Wafarin etc.

Suggested Use: 100 to 300mg per day. The antioxidative effect is higher, if you add 125 to 250mg Sumac Bran Extract. Also Ascorbyl-Palmitate would be a benefit.
